1. The Service

The Fable Engine provides custom written content for tabletop role-playing games, including character backstories and campaign kits ("Orders"). By placing an Order, you agree to these terms.

The Fable Engine is operated as an Australian sole trader. ABN: 52 303 814 545.

2. Orders and Delivery

Orders are placed via the commission intake form and payment is processed through Stripe. Upon successful payment you will receive an order confirmation to the contact method you nominated.

• Standard delivery: 48–72 hours from brief receipt
• Rush delivery (where purchased): 24 hours from brief receipt
• Delivery is via a shared Google Doc link or email attachment
• Delivery times are estimates and may vary for complex orders. You will be notified of any delay.

3. Revisions

• Quick packages (Quick Backstory, Mini Campaign Kit): no revision round included. Minor factual corrections honoured.
• Standard packages (Full Backstory, Full Campaign Kit): one revision round within 7 days of delivery
• Premium packages (Deluxe Backstory, Bespoke Campaign): unlimited revisions within 14 days of delivery
• Revision requests must be submitted by email to hello@thefableengine.com

4. Your Brief

The quality of the delivered work depends on the detail provided in your brief. You are responsible for ensuring your brief accurately describes what you need. Orders are written based on the brief as submitted. Significant scope changes after work has begun may be treated as a new order.

5. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment and delivery, you own the written content delivered to you for personal and commercial use at your gaming table. You may share it with your players. You may publish it for personal non-commercial use with attribution.

You may not resell, redistribute, or publish the delivered content commercially without written permission. The Fable Engine retains the right to use anonymised structural elements of delivered work as examples or templates.

6. Content Standards

The Fable Engine will not write content that: sexualises minors, promotes real-world harm, constitutes hate speech, or infringes third-party intellectual property. Orders containing such requirements will be cancelled and refunded in full.

The Fable Engine writes for mature themes including violence, moral ambiguity, and dark fantasy in the context of tabletop roleplay. If you require content warnings or specific tone restrictions, include them in your brief.

7. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Australian Consumer Law provides guarantees that cannot be excluded. If the service provided fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Fable Engine's liability for any claim arising from an Order is limited to the amount paid for that Order. The Fable Engine is not liable for indirect losses, including time or costs arising from delayed delivery.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
