Privacy Policy

This policy describes how The Fable Engine collects and uses personal information. It is consistent with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Information Collected

We collect only the information necessary to fulfil your order:

• Contact information: email address, Discord username, or Etsy username — whichever you nominate for delivery
• Order information: your commission brief, including any character or campaign details you provide
• Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe. The Fable Engine does not see or store your card details.

The free tools (Voice Tester, Arc Planner, Smart Intake) store usage data only in your own browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To fulfil your order and communicate about it
• To send your completed document
• To process refund or revision requests

We do not use your information for marketing without your consent. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as described below.

3. Third-Party Services

• Stripe (stripe.com): payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Google Drive: document delivery. Your document is shared with you via a view-only link. Google's privacy policy applies to their service.
• Vercel: website hosting. Server request logs (IP addresses, timestamps) are retained by Vercel per their policy.
• Groq: powers the Voice Tester tools. Prompts are sent to Groq's API. No personal information is included in these prompts.

4. Data Retention

Order briefs and correspondence are retained for 12 months to support revision requests and dispute resolution. After 12 months, order data is deleted. Payment records are retained as required by Australian tax law.

5. Security

Communication occurs over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our systems. Commission briefs received by email are stored in a private inbox.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact hello@thefableengine.com. We will respond within 30 days.
